Lavazza Coffee Museum in Turin

Do you measure your life in coffee spoons? If so, then I advise you to visit the fantastic Lavazza Museum (Museo Lavazza) in Turin, dedicated to the rich coffee culture in Italy, as well as the history of the largest and most famous coffee brand in the world.

I did not expect before the visit that the coffee museum would make such an impression on me. We spent more than an hour at the museum exploring many theme rooms with stunning interactive exhibits.

I hasten to share with you a photo report.

Exposition

Together with the tickets that I booked online, they give out a special cup - this is your pass to the interactive world of the Lavazza Museum. There are special places on the stands, put a cup there, and the magic begins.

At the entrance to the museum you will see a stand with a chronology of the development of the Lavazza brand since 1895, when Luigi Lavazza founded a manufactory in Turin, to this day.

In the next room, a coffee plantation was recreated, on which you can smell the smell of ripe berries on a tree - the smell is generated by a special green ring on the background below. Magic!

Near the plantation on special monitors you can watch mini-films, diagrams, statistics, find out the characteristics of plantations in different countries and even try to grow high-quality grain yourself.

Moving a special interactive screen, you can observe how coffee beans change during the roasting process.

If you are registered on Instagram, then in a special selection of coffee stories in Italy, you can watch a report from the museum, as well as find out about my relationship with this drink.

At the next stand, moving the screen, you can see how the process of packing coffee into cans, packs and capsules takes place.

In the 1950s and 1960s, coffee was packaged like canned food.

Did you know that even astronauts drink Lavazza coffee? Indeed, in 2014, a special coffee machine was developed for the international space station, which allows you to prepare your favorite drink in zero gravity! The apparatus weighing 20 kilograms arrived at the station on May 3, 2015, can operate at zero attraction, and is made of metal parts that can withstand high pressure. The honor of being the first to test a miracle machine and tasting a space espresso went to the first woman, an astronaut from Italy, flight engineer Samantha Cristoforetti.

The neighboring screens show the difference in cultures and rituals of drinking coffee on different continents.

The museum presents models of coffee machines from the very first to the modern, as well as special versions.

Now coffee in Italy can be drunk literally on every corner.

The Lavazza brand is famous for its advertising campaigns, and for the annual calendar invites the best photographers in the world. Most of the museum is dedicated to advertising, on dozens of screens you can change images for different years.

In special thematic areas, you can take pictures on the background of characters from the advertising campaign. Photos will be mailed to you.

At the end of the visit, an unusual espresso tasting awaited us. The fact is that the grains for this drink were brought from Ethiopia, which means that the drink has a pronounced sour taste that you will never find in a traditional Italian bar.

In the gift shop you can buy attributes associated with the brand and, of course, coffee!

How to buy tickets online

If it is possible to buy a ticket online, I always use it - I make my small contribution to the conservation of forests on the planet and try to be modern. A ticket to the Lavazza Museum costs 10 euros, for young people from 7 to 25 years old and tourists over 65 years old - 8 euros, children under 6 years old are allowed to enter with parents for free.

I bought a ticket one day before the visit on the website www.tiqets.com, the whole process took 3 minutes. Consider the process step by step:

Choose the date of visit - in my case, March 30th.

Indicate the necessary tickets, I took 1 adult (Adult 26-64) for 10 euros and 1 for youth (Youth 7-25) for 8 euros. Push the transition to the next step (Go to the next step).

Enter the name (First name), last name (Last name), email address (Email address) and contact phone number (Mobile phone number)

Click on the Confirm your booking button - confirm the reservation and select a payment method, for example, with a MasterCard.

Enter the card data.

Voila, tickets are bought, they can be downloaded on the same page in PDF format.

At the same time, 2 letters arrive at the post office: with confirmation of payment and tickets. The letter emphasizes once again that it is not necessary to print it! Simply show the barcode from the letter or from the PDF ticket at the entrance.
