Railway Station Verona Porta Nuova

Station Verona Porta Nuova is the main railway station of the city and one of the 10 largest railway stations in Italy. Every year, it serves about 28 million passengers, and trains leave almost every minute from early morning until late evening. In this article you will learn about what constitutes Verona's main station and how to get from the station to the city center or airport.

Verona Main Station

The building of Verona Station consists of 4 floors, and the complex has everything that may be needed for a comfortable stay of passengers: cafes, shops, a first-aid post, ATMs and even car rental.

If you come to Verona for 1 day and do not want to rush around the city with a suitcase, you can leave the bag in a luggage room. It is located on the first floor of the station to the left of the entrance.

Verona Port Nuova Station annually serves more than 25 million passengers

Storage price - 6 Euro for the first 5 hours. Each subsequent hour will cost 1 or 0.5 euros, depending on the time of day: from 8 to 12 and from 12 to 22, respectively.

Also on the ground floor there are ticket offices and vending machines for selling train tickets, but they are better used for regional trains (Regionale), and tickets for fast routes should be bought in advance via the Internet.

About 300 trains pass through Verona Station every day

The fact is that in Italy the price of tickets for fast trains often depends on the time remaining before departure.

In addition, there are frequent cases on popular routes in the season when there are no tickets for the next train at all, because everything has been bought in advance.

You can check the current train schedule from Verona and purchase tickets online at Omio.ru former GoEuro. Here you can also get a discount that even railway companies themselves do not provide.

Composter at the train station in Italy

BlogoItaliano wrote more about this in the article How to get 10 Euro discount on trains in Italy in 5 minutes.

If your ticket does not indicate the departure time and seat number in the car, then it must be composted before boarding the train. Such composters at Verona Station can be found on every platform. Usually, they are yellow or green.

How to get to Port Nuova from Verona Airport

The distance from Verona Airport to the railway station is about 12 km, and between them in the daytime a special shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes.

Travel time is 15 minutes, ticket price is 6 euros (2019). And within 75 minutes from the moment of composting, you can ride on the same ticket on public transport.

Tickets can be purchased at vending machines in the airport arrivals hall, directly on board with the driver or on the ATV website.

The second option is to call a taxi. You can catch a car directly at the terminal or order it by the Internet when your flight arrives.

In the second case, the price will be about the same, but they will meet you with a sign in the arrivals area, help with things, and also will not take anything from above if the flight is delayed.

In addition, when ordering a taxi online, the cost is calculated automatically and does not change subsequently. This avoids cheating by local drivers.

You can find out the current taxi prices and book a car for your flight to Verona on this page.
