Villa in Sicily by the sea: Villa Posidonie

The idea to rent a villa in Sicily by the sea was infected by my friend Seryozha Kondobarov, who also met Mario once on the advice of his friends and since then has been taking his parents to rest in these wonderful places every spring and autumn. So far, we have been staying with Mario and Antonella in the neighboring villa, and at Villa Posidonie we stopped by to “take a closer look” during our June trip to the south of Italy.

If Villa Limone-Melograno is more Sicilian, authentic with many details and an incredibly beautiful garden, Villa Posidonie is, in our opinion, an ideal option for relaxing by the sea with 4-5 people. On our next visit to Sicily, we will definitely try to stay in it. We hope that, after reading this article, you, dear readers, will leave us. At least in October.
So, let's get to know each other.

The main plus of the villa is its location, just 200 meters from the beach.

Going inside we get into the living room.

A fireplace, real - it can be used to create a special atmosphere or as Mario put it “for parties”.

If you are arriving at the villa with a company of 6 people, an extra bed can be installed in the living room.

This is only a small part of the cups that Mario won in marathon races. The rest of the collection is kept at his house in Trapani.

As my friend Serega says: “Mario is a rock-man, a legend, a real SICILIAN, a great patriot of Trapani ...” I’ll add on my own that last year, at the age of 60, Mario ran another marathon (42 km 195 meters) and with the result of 2 hours 50 minutes became the second fastest in Italy and the first in Sicily in the age group over 50. Until now, he runs 10 times a week, 5 times a week, so as to keep himself in shape.

Back to the villa. To the left of the entrance is the kitchen, which has everything you need. Purchased in a nearby supermarket and go ahead to enjoy Italian products.

On the table, we found several original reviews from previous guests.

Judging by the pictures, the children liked the stay in the villa.

As mentioned at the beginning, there are not so many details here as in the neighboring villa, but, nevertheless, the eye has something to dwell on.

Walking along the corridor, we find ourselves in the second part of the house.

First room for a couple.

Second room.

The bathroom is clean and tidy.

We should also say about the atmosphere in the area around the villa. Mario, as a professional gardener and Sicilian, grows dozens of plants.

Including palm trees and my favorite pine trees are Italian pines.

How much does it cost to rent a villa in Sicily

Finally, there are prices that I am sure will pleasantly surprise you. Yes, life in Sicily is not that expensive.
Number of people who can accommodate in the villa: 1-6 (ideally 4-5)

In the high season of July-August, the cost of renting an entire villa, regardless of the number of people, is 80 euros per day. In the remaining months, 60 euros per day.

How long does it take to book?

Since the whole of Italy does not work together in August, the villa is booked for July-August, traditionally in March. You are lucky if you are lucky to book it in April at the end of summer. In my opinion, the ideal time to relax in Sicily is September-October, and swim here until mid-November.

Excerpt from an article about a neighboring villa: “Villa Mario and Antonella can be found both at Bucking and other booking sites, but we ordered all SMS correspondence. We wrote a message in English with the following content:"Hello Mario and Antonella. My name is Artur. My friend from Germany Sergey srtongly recommended to stay in your villa while visiting Sicily. I plan to stay in Trapani with my wife (2 persons) from 11/30/2013 to 12/02/2013. Is your villa availible in this period? Please send us price for 3 nights. ”After confirmation, we talked a little about the dates of our arrival in Trapani. You can write in English or Italian. Although Mario and Antonella speak only Italian, it’s easy to find a common language with them.

In our opinion, the most correct way is to go around all the reservation systems, go our own way and contact the owners directly. This will help not to pay a commission to agencies and support these wonderful people. True, keep in mind that by contacting directly you do not pay any advances and penalties for a possible non-arrival and change of plans on your part. Try not to let these good people down. We and our friends have repeatedly seen their decency and sincerely recommend this option of a real Sicilian holiday.

To confirm your serious intentions, you will be asked to pay for a 1 night reservation in one of the housing search systems so that you have the opportunity to write a review about them.

Attention: in the high season from May to September you need to pay the full cost of living immediately.

Corniglia is the smallest city in the Cinque Terre National Park. It differs from the rest of the cities of Pyatisemye in that it is not located on the very shore of the Ligurian Sea, but at an altitude of about 100 meters above its level. Therefore, it will not work to get to it by sea - only by land modes of transport.
